Years 7+ Holiday Care

All young people during the holidays will be back onsite at 4:30pm and after school at 5:30pm if your child cannot go out then please inform us by telephone or by leaving a note in our daily diary.

During the holidays we ask that all young people are onsite by 9:30am so that arrangements for the days outings can be finalised and we do not like to see disappointed young people missing out on activities they would have like to have been involved with.  Breakfast (during holidays) and afternoon snacks are provided daily, the cost of which is included in your fees.  Children with specific dietary needs are catered for but please state any dietary requirements your child may have on your application form.

Our aim is to create an environment where young people learn about life skills; they are encouraged and supported to do as much as possible for themselves.  We would like to emphasise this is a friendly environment for all young people to have fun without constantly being told what to do.  We encourage your child to the decision making, this builds self-esteem and confidence.

Children and young people use play to face the challenges in their world as they grow and make the transition to adulthood.  Through play they keep physically healthy, make discoveries about themselves and other learn independence and confidence and grow as individuals and as members of the community.

Play is about free choice.  Play can be fun or serious, it can be social, physical or imaginary but it is always done for its own sake, not for a goal or reward.

Camping

During the summer holidays we take the young people camping, this is a fantastic experience and gives the young people opportunities to learn new skills.  The essence of camp is the presence of supportive relationships, meaningful opportunities, and challenging activities in a physically and emotionally environment, where they can explore and discover to other camps teach campers“ Camps build life skills – communication, listening, learning to present how to value others as much as themselves”.
